Wow, that's a hell of a start! I think you got all maintenance items covered; do not forget to also replace diff oil, as I did not see that on the list. I also found cleaning up my HVAC system of old leaves and grime and disinfecting it quite satisfactory as well, but I assume yours would be in MUCH better shape than mine.

Ahh good call! yep will be changing the diff oil too as well as replacing coolant (have to as I am replacing the radiator to the Koyo unit. It's still the OEM unit after 20 years! no cracks but very brown...)
My car doesnt have AC but does have the heater working haha. How would you go about cleaning the HVAC?
I would do a proper cooling system flush as well to remove any grime accumulated over the years. There's a certain process that takes some time and involves a LOT of distilled water, but in the end you will have a pristine cooling system. Worth replacing the thermostat (cheap) while you are in there, and since you will be taking all belts off, take a look at the water pump as well. Also worth checking/replacing all belts now than later.
Regarding the HVAC, I started doing mine since the drain tube from the AC evaporator got clogged and all accumulated moisture drained in the passenger carpet. What I did was taking off the cowl intake cover (plastic bit by the wiper arm mechanism) and clean/blow all leaves off. Then I placed a plastic mesh on top and secured it with zip ties to prevent leaves of getting in the system again. Next, I removed the glovebox, took the fan unit out (was full of pine needles, leaves and dust) and gave it a proper clean. That gave me access to the "snorkel" that brings air from the cowl to the fan, I thoroughly cleaned it with a damp and soapy microfiber towel, followed by a damp one to remove any soap, dried it out and applied Autoglym's vinyl & rubber care lotion. I did the same with all HVAC components accessible somehow, but I still need to remove the vents to do so...or maybe the whole dash at some point. Last step was using a smokebomb-style air-con sanitizer, which is supposed to get rid of all bacteria that grow in the system. All this did a considerable job in the air quality coming out of the vents; worth an evening of awkward positions and swearing!
Hope this helped a bit, if you have any questions feel free to ask! Believe I have some pics in my build thread as well.

Wow thanks so much for the detailed and informative post! Very much appreciated!
Yes, the thermostat, waterpump and timing belt was changed 10 years ago when the car had 147XXX kms on the clock according to receipts. Previous owner only drove 2000kms in 10 years but still did a service every year with fresh fluid. The timing belt had only travelled 9000kms from when it was changed to when I picked it up, but I'm replacing it because it's been so long albeit the low kms. The water pump and thermostat should still be okay. The flush for the cooling system will be done too.
The HVAC clean seems pretty hectic but yes definitely something that I will do later in the year.
Picked up a used but still in good condition full AC unit from an NA8 which no longer needed it as it was being turned into a track car. Condenser has a hole which will need to be replaced but compressor seems fine. Will probably follow your detailed method of cleaning the HVAC when I get around to installing it!
Many thanks again!

There may be some more stuff in the mail and/or getting installed in the next month.
