So I (well, technically Harry did) found this for sale, seller says it's an M2 strut brace. Is it an M2 item indeed? How much could it be worth?

I'm not sure I've ever seen a closeup picture of an M2 1001 bar, so it is possible. The M2 1001 bar does have taller bends like the bar you are showing, RustRat. However, I would be surprised if it only had half feet (not surrounding the shock mount). In any event, I don't think the M2 1001 bar was the best overall design and I wouldn't give it a premium over any other bar available. I'm an M2 nut and the fact that I'm not sure of exactly what the M2 1001 bar looks like should be a clue that it doesn't elicit the "ah" factor that some other M2 parts do.
The M2-1028 bar that PhatMiata is showing in his post is the superior design and does command a premium. They generally go for $200+ usd.

Aha! I don't this particular design in any photo of the M2 models, so I guess it's something else.
I'm going to purchase it anyway, since it seems to be sturdy enough to work as it should, and it's cheap.
Thanks for the help!

may be it is M2 as in for an NB? Early (99-00) NB strut bars will fit NAs, er M1's.
Def not 1028 or 1001 bar fore sure.

Never heard a Miata being referred to as M1, M2 etc. More commonn is to see them as NA-NB-NBFL (as in NB Face Lift) or MK1-MK2-MK2.5 (mark 1, mark 2 etc). Mazda called them M1s and M2s?

I'm pretty sure Ive seen the reference used over at miata.net. However I may be confusing M2 with MK2 which I think would be easy for others to do as well. Mazda did not refer to them as M!, M2, etc. I think vote4pedro has your answer as I didn't really think the bar you are inquiring about is an M2 corporation bar either. V4P is very knowledgeable about M2 corporation stuff and his explanation makes the most sense.
Googling it revealed the answer. I'm dumb, sorry. It's a cheap brace from a company called M2 motorsport, similar to the PWD:JDM and similar "jdm" parts manufacturers. It costs £28 new. I'm disapointed.
