    Help needed identifying seats

Hey guys, haven't posted in a while, but I need some proper Miata enthousiasts insight .
I just traded these seats for the grand total of an ashtray and a shift knob, expecting them to be the standard seats covered in fake suede.
The guy dropped them off and the first time I tried to lift one I almost pulled my back. They were much lighter than expected!

Turns out instead of a metal base they're made out of fibreglass and weigh a good 10 lbs per seat less than the stockers.

Does anyone know what they are? The only info on them is a sticker reading "Inspected by Wendy", so i figured they had to be American .

    Thanks!

That's a new one to me. Interesting find. Good luck finding the source. Maybe England?

They sure look like 96/97 NA seats, interesting that they're fiberglass.

I've never seen them either, but it is sort of brilliant. I hope the fiberglass is thick.

Looks like a stock seat, exact same as the one's that came in my 1990, UK Spec. Honestly looks like a custom job to lighten the seats further, then re-upholstered. I've never seen that before, pretty awesome
You want a good car. I want a good miata.

They are the stock design, but a different construction. The upholstery is a bit weird, but you could put any NA seat cover on them.
I thought it might be a custom job, but they're way too engineered for that.
The fibreglass bottom definitely came out of a proper mold and is about 1/4" thick. The foam is very firm and like new as well.

I've seen enough NA seats in my time to know these aren't a factory item .
