    Inspection before rotor/brake pads change.

I was worried about the piston caliper seal. It seems to be ok but the slider pins look like they have a bit wear.

DO I need to replace it?

    Upper slider pin

    Lower slider pin

I have finally drilled the pads to fit the springs.

Front is done now, As I'm not a well trained mechanics, i will first study how does the hand brake settings works at the rear calipers...

I finally changed the rear pads & rotors. I have to set the hand brake right, its not tight enaugh.

My exhaust was becoming "sporty" but I could not understand why, I found the guilty thing!

My soft track setup is now finished, time to go racing!

    Today i bedded the brakes.

During the first 20km after a slow warm up I had some unbalance making the car going on the right side during heavy brakings

No impossible I spent so much time changing this that I can't have done something wrong

I went to my local shop and the guy said, I have to go on bedding... He was right!

This time 50km more to do a correct bedding, after warm up the unbalance disappeared and I was able to make heavy braking without tyre smoke just by hearing the start of the tyre singing, It's a perfect landmark indeed!

Then I went back home slowly to cool down the brakes, but I noticed something wrong:

    -rotors overheated
-I was not able to let my hand on the rear wheels, on the front was able to.

    Rear rotors:

Front rotors are homogeneous and look ok:

The handbrake screws are loosen, I don't understand the reason I had this residual braking on the rear.

This morning I did a training with a Profesionnal driver, that was awesome!

I have to say that in the global world of tuned track car most of the people are interted by fitting tons of parts on their cars...

Ok it makes sense but we often forgot to improve also our driving. Whatever the coutry you live i can juste advice anybody to do that even once a year.

The best thing is to focus on the bad details when you take a corner, after practice you feel how the car behaves perfect in that curve and make your cornering speed as it should be in a perfect world...

You get the rear brakes sorted? I had to adjust mine both times i did my brakes, once on my nb1 and then my na8, and you are supposed to tighten the parking brake hex screw or whatever you wsnt to call it just enough so that the rotor doesn't turn easily and then back off on the screw 1/4 to 1/2.

I changed the exhaust for a Cobalt, pretty nice and not too loud.

Just read back the entire thread, great car and great job in making it better than ever!
Have to get a set of those nuts soon... Car looks great and the wheeled platforms seem like an awesome idea. A quick question, where did you get the coolant hoses from? Are they OEM, and did they come as a kit? The only option I could find in Europe was the Stoney Racing silicone ones...

This how I park the car :

    Several parts have been changed:

    -New clutch

    -gearbox O rings

-driveshaft U joint refurbed and balanced

-ebay 4-2-1 header with custom stainless steel flex tube

    -gear lever lower seal (again)

The U joint on the gearbox side makes a knocking will it rotates:

If I still have this little oil leak, the next steps is a new head gasket. All other sealing parts of the engine and gearbox have been changed in the last 4 years.

I should participate to two track days this summer.
