    Engine swap!

I have a 97 1.8 BP. I'm looking to swap it out with a 99-00 1.8 BP 4w, on the account of having coolant in the oil. (engine swap may cost less than a rebuild) Besides the engine what would I be looking at swapping for this to work? Will it mount to the same transmission? Do I need a new wire harness? Will it work with a 97 ECU? I know this question has probably been asked b-4 but I can't seem to type in the right combination of words to the search engine to find the answer. Any help, even if its just a link is appreciated. ty yall.

From my little experience, I know that any miata B6 or BP engine will mount to any 5 or 6-speed transmission no problem. You might have to use the NA starter though.

CAS on NBs is at a different point (exhaust cam for NAs, intake cam for NBs).

The rubber engine mounts are the same, but the metal brackets that attach them in the block might differ, so you will need these too.

Adding to that, I know that Mazda uses the same 1.6 casting in NAs, NBs and NB2s, at least at the 1.6 engines (B6). A friend is swapping a NB2 motor in his NA, removing the NB cam sensor and using a CAS instead.
