I know you'll enjoy the fender braces, as I did with the Frog Arms. Definitely a lot of pre-work there.

Great job! Glad to see you back in the saddle again, moving forward!

Solved the problem with the hood needing to be slammed--I think. Cut a little bit off the two rubber bumpers on either side of the latch.

Looks a lot like the Supermiata one, but has to come from across the pond.

Got in contact with Supermiata, who told me the spacers would be back in stock on the site today.
MONEY SPENT ALERT: Supermiata NB steering spacer is on its way!

I put off installing the spacer because I finally got a time slot at the alignment and suspension shop I had originally hoped to take The Tick to last year and had to settle for the shop of my nightmare.
Well, one more nail in the coffin of that shop (if you are in the Cincinnati/Indiana/Northern Kentucky area, Turn-In Concepts is not your friend): the alignment tech found that one of the inner tie rods had almost completely backed out and the other was only finger tight. I trust his word (Bill over at Performance Alignment) because he's been aligning my Miatas since 2004 along with a lot of the Vette/Porsche/SCCA crowd since a lot longer than that.
What this means is that the only thing that the shop didn't screw up (that I know of) is the oil pan resealing, which is the one thing I didn't bring the car to the shop for. I'm scared to find out if they did at this point.

No todo que es oro brilla.
Look up the torque specs and patterning on the oil pan and go over it yourself.
The steering bungles make me mad. That is down right dangerous and inexcusable.

No, only to remove it. You should be able to get a wrench or 1/4 socket on them. You can put a chunk of wood between the oil pan an a floor jack to raise the engine a little if you need to. The bolts are all m6x1.0 10mm. They bolt into the iron block. They dont need to be hulk-smash tight, just consistent and in a pattern; middle-out, similarly as the valve cover sequence.
Sounds like I could just put the car up on ramps and jack the motor up slightly, then. I could do that when I change the oil. To tell the truth, the car doesn't appear to have left a single drop of oil on the floor and the oil level is still good a year later, so I shouldn't be panicked, but that hasn't gotten me very far.

If it is dry, I would not touch it. But I am with KFJ as it regards steering/braking components.
