I was not satisfied on how my Bride Exas III bucket seats are positioned with the Bride Type FO seat rails. I noticed that the left driver side rails are are positioned much higher than the right passenger side seat rails. Although I reckon this may be due to the fact that in Japan the driver is on the right side of the car which may explain why the right seat rail is lower than the left.
left rail=passenger side; right rail=driver's side
So using the pattern of the Type FO rails, I made a custom "non-sliding" seat bracket. This means that I removed the sliders and instead made a fixed bracket for the bucket seats BUT the bucket seats can be positioned in 3 adjustment to get a more desirable position of the bucket vis-a-vis the steering wheel.
Let the pictures do more explaining.
front/forward bolt hole
rear bolt hole
frame for the bucket seats
I had to weld in the center flat bar to hold together the left and right bracket of the seats to align them with the bracke that will bolt on to the floor
I drilled three holes to add more adjustability to the seat bracket since the sliders have been removed.
fast forward...the seat bracket mated to the floor brackets
comparison of the Bride Type FO seat brackets with the one I made...see how low this bracket is
in car pix...
that's all folks total of 5hrs. to make.
I'm very satisfied now on how the bucket seat is positioned...super low as it should be
