Lightbulb Miatas at the End of the World party

I want to have a party or multi club BBQ to celebrate our Miatas before the end of the world on Dec 21 this year. I'm putting this here instead of the FL section thinking maybe you other clubs around the world would like to do the same.

I figure if we can get every Miater in the world to drive east at the same time and then slam the brakes, we can alter the Earth's rotation enough to avert impending doom thus saving the world for another thousand years.

If not, then it's just sounds cool to have an end-of-the-world party anyway and who else better to celebrate with than the remaining Miata jockeys who aren't holed up in bunkers counting ammo and eating MREs.

So, since this is just a general feeler, let's get some ideas going. Oh, it's way too early to throw out excuses like babysitters, kid's soccer game is that day or the usual bullshit people say to get out of another Miata meet.

This is the one last and best party you will be able to attend...ever.

The Mayan calendar was established in 3372 BC.

Our Gregorian Calendar mas made a little after 1550 AD.

From what I have read on the topic, saying that the Mayan calendar should be adjusted for leap year is like saying you should change the spark plugs on your diesel.

"I make not claims to the accuracy of this statement" its because the internets says so.

My post says nothing about adjusting anything. An extra day observed every four years in a more recently adopted calendar system will throw off how an already established (with future dates already mapped out, mind you) method of time keeping is read, regardless of when the two were created.

I didn't mean anything like that. I was really just joking. There are a lot of people taking it seriously, after all. But really, I think it's a neat idea. We've all got to die sometime, right? Why not at a big, sweaty Miata party?

Actually me and my wife have our 10th Anniversary on the 21st of December, so that date wont work for me.

What would be a good 10th anniversary present? I told her I'm not buying her anything because its the end of the world anyhow. hahahaha

Sounds like fun but I'll be busy looting and pillaging.

    Have a good time though!
