Could my fraying battery ground cause my gauge cluster fuse to keep blowing?

    Quick question guys,
when I take the miata on my favorite windy drive up Glendora mountain road, I always blow my gauge cluster fuse (10A) under the dash (no tach or oil pressure) I looked in the trunk and saw that the battery ground where it attaches to the frame is half torn through...could this be the cause and how do I fix it?
    Thanks!

It's very unlikely that it has anything to do with it. It looks like it's only a couple of strands that are broken, not uncommon for that ground wire.
I'd be looking at the cluster itself.

    Guys,
after I tethered down the battery, replaced the fraying cable... no more fuse blowing...
    thanks for all the insight...
