Changed radiator fluid and finally put on my purple Samco hoses. Pictures will come later today probably. They're a bit more obscured than I thought they would be.
But now I need to figure out what's causing my right rear brake to have a really annoying squeaking rattle.
I've already taken it apart once and found nothing. Sound and rattle go away under braking. Hmmmm.
drove it without having to work on it!!! 4 days in a row!!!!
Did this yesterday actually...
Well I finally got around to doing this rebuild, and I think I'm safe to say that this shifter still sucks sweaty donkey balls.
Anyway, after pulling the unit apart, I realized that the PO of this car installed the damn thing wrong. Imagine that. It's not the first thing I've found on this poor car that was wrong and/or botched up by that schmuck. Hell, even the very bottom bushing (collar) that goes on the tip of the shifter down inside the turret wasn't even there!
After everything was buttoned back up, the shifter is still fairly sloppy while in gear, but not as bad as it was. Looking back on it, I'm not thinking I should have turned that screw on the main collar around so the head was on the inside, instead of the threads sticking through to the side bushing of the ball. I think that might be contributing to some of that slop, if not all of it. Every picture I see of this particular kit shows some kind of thicker sleeve that rides in that side bushing. Hmm...
Here's a few pics from the rebuild.
And yes, I realize that I put on the boot before the upper bushing. I won't tell you how much of a bitch it was to get that boot back off either...

Rounded the nut on the hard line that goes to the clutch slave cylinder... at least the master cylinder wasn't as much of a b****. Already bled the system but now I'm gonna consider getting that "straight shot" clutch line or whatever from Miataroadster or something. So disappointed things didn't go smoother today.
Went to visit it for the first time in a few months. Tomorrow it's going on a trailer and coming home to get some Megan EZ streets installed in the next couple weeks. Then I might actually put it back on the road for a couple months to give the NB a break before winter.

I totally forgot about those. I actually sold them last year. I ordered coils and wheels but then tuition and books raped me so I cancelled the order on the wheels. Still haven't decided if I'll cancel the order on the coils, but I think if I actually get them the car will be on the road in the next month with the bronze heliums from my NB at least until winter before it goes back into storage.
Just nice to have it at home again, although it is very tempting to hop in and drive with no insurance or up to date registration, especially since right now it has a full tank of gas and the NB is empty lol!

Replaced my '95 radio bezel for a newer, actual DIN sized '97 unit. Now my NB HVAC and head unit fit the way they should.
