Dirt, Sand, Grass. It all works the same. The only benefit is that there is no salt.

It snowed here in Denver between Saturday night and Sunday morning. The high for Sunday was 18 degrees...Luckily it will be in the upper 50's by Wed, and 40's today and tomorrow and that I can actually handle!
