Gave the dashpot a nice wd-40 bath last night. OMG my car drives better now - no more whiplash while puttering around in 1st gear.

Still not perfect, though. I'm gonna check/set the base idle this evening.

I'm sure it is just a new creative way of blowing a hole in the motor. Crank/Rod through the bottom end is sooo 2012!

Yes, and maharaj is right. Seriously, live ammo has no business inside an engine compartment!

No, that is MOST definitely a live round. Please remove ASAP, I'm not even close to be kidding. An empty shell, that ain't.

Well I happen to know a little bit about guns and ammo, and I certainly know enough to know that is safe. If you've removed the bullet from the casing, which it shows you have in the picture, and you've emptied out all the gunpowder, which you say you did, then that is completely safe. The only thing that could "go off" on that is the primer, and it would sound like and basically have the effects of a snap cap. No bodily injury, or even engine damage would result, that's for sure.

Coming from someone who's been reloading his own ammo in his apartment for the last 3 years without a single mishap.

Somewhere I missed that you had removed the gun powder and for that I apologize. But as Yellow Yata Maister said, the "primer" is still ready to go. That is no bueno, been that you have it aimed where the oil is!

    This.
I've got a lot less horsepower - luckily they are Japanese horses - usually in better shape and more motivated.
