    Car noob from Jacksonville

    Hey everyone,
So clearly I'm new to this forum but I'm also new to cars.
Through high school you know, mommy and daddy let me drive their car but didn't have the extra money to buy me one of my own.
My main reason for joining this forum was to get some input from all the Miata enthusiasts on what route I should go. I've always wanted a Miata but I would like to know what Generation is not only most fun but most forgiving to someone new to car mechanics.
I am open to anyone and everyone's opinion.

Note - I am leaving for Boot, June 10th but after I get back I would like to start a thread on my adventure, while I'm in intel school. Assuming they allow me to have a car at that point.

    Looking forward to input, thanks!

NA or NB (1st or 2nd gen) are your best bets if you want to start learning how to wrench. They're also cheaper to acquire.

    Thanks for enlisting.

Welcome. Jacksonville...FL? They've got a Miata club there too so you can check out which one you'd like. Of course, if you've got a price range, that'll help narrow it down a bit more. But as said before, the NA 90-97 or NB 99-05 generations are all very similar, share many of the same parts and have lots of info/research/material on them. The NC 06+ generation is a whole different car.

Yes, Florida. Ill have to check out that club before I leave for boot. I have been researching a lot of Miatas lately and I had already completely ruled out NC's I'm really interested in NB's however I think I would easily choose an NA. Thanks for the input and warm welcome guys. Really looking forward to being a part of the Miata community.

Good to have you with us welcome to the MR forum, I agree that the 1st or 2nd Gen. would work best for you.
