    Newb to Socal from Houston

    Sup, y'all?

Moved to redondo at the beginning of this month and have already made it out to three meets (including KINOD of course) and a visit to project G. I also ran into the owner of AEM the first week I was here and had breakfast with him yesterday to talk about my miata. Great guy who knows more connected car guys than I could even guess at.

I have several items I'm trying to install, including an EMS-4 and a full set of pulleys. I also have plans for flares and wheels in the near future. Definitely looking to develop a relationship with a shop like Pit garage or Lucky 7 racing; a place that does custom anything and can handle tuning on the EMS.

I have done just about everything on my car myself except for an engine rebuild and paint. She's not perfect but I couldn't be happier... I have made many choices that didn't last and see the project as a never ending evolution. I'll try things out just because I have fun wrenching and sometimes I'm looking for a project. Also happy to help out anybody that needs it for DIY garage installs. I've done just about all of it on an NA.

    Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you're doing a lot of networking. Keep it up.
Kinod and Project G are huge in the Miata community. I'd kill for a chance to hangout with all of those guys.

Also, post some pictures of your Miata!

Dang, looks awesome! I'm not sure how much I like the tail lights, but everything else is on point!

Not sure I ever met you in Houston? I was pretty active with the HMC and went to Houston Coffee and Cars almost every month.

Where there are three or four meets a month in Houston, there are three or four meets a week here in the LA area. I'm really excited about living here in the Mecca of US car culture and plan to take full advantage. Every other Sunday there is a sunset cruise up Palos Verdes and I'm looking forward to that this coming weekend!

I doubt you'd ever met me. I'm a slightly antisocial car enthusiast. I don't go out to meets ever, and I haven't ever been able to attend a HMC meet because of my work schedule. I wish I loved in Socal, or at least could go visit. Kinod seems so freaking awesome.

Thanks! I know, they are soooo much better than stock... Which is exactly why I got them. Already tried stock and then smoked stock before selling off the OEMs and upgrading. They remind me of the color matched corvette headlights because the bezel is matched. I think they go well with the overall look of the rear end. I feel the same way about the headlights... They match the bumper and the overall styling cues of the changes I have made.

Yeah so I totally get you were making a negative comment.
