dammm! where did you get the pitcrew bumper?
2010 NCII TR
k so, I've been sick for a few days but tada!! ...something's missin
here's a better hint to what's missing
bonded and glassed, and then a light layer of bondo for finishing smooooooooooothy
...and moving forward with the project - off with the GVs
Please tell me you aren't getting rid of your gv tails for good!
My build thread and my Instagram.
no, i'm just dissecting the car to paint it... because it won't be the same color as OEM, this will help me get into all the "hard to reach" areas, giving me a more thorough color-change... and also let me pay closer attention to each specific part being painted (as i'll be painting them separately)
...it'll get worse before it gets better
are you rounding off those headlight covers to go on the hood
like this

yes, why yes I am gene
and I've been working very slowly :\ or, just working at my job an awful lot... anyways - I've primed the bumper, GV panel and trunk lid... sanded the rear quarters and shaved the antenna!
I've also bonded the pitcrew to the fenders - now I just need to glass it and blend it nice and smooth...
most recent progress pics:
next up, I have to remove the doors, and the door handles, and detach the top so I can take the belt trim off and start to mask off everything.
i gotta attach my east coast miata mirrors, also, I finally got my dash-mount mirror complete after the company ran out of stock on the mirror portion i've only had the base installed for a few weeks.
pics coming of those mirror things...
basecoat.jpgbase, no clear....
there's a bit more metallic in this paint than i had imagined! all that glare is from the metallic Lol, can't wait to clearcoat and see it come to life! The color is pretty consistent - it should turn out fantastic (if i do say so myself!)
lol
im starting to really like this project
Thank you, Gene...
So, I need to get some alumineeum to attach the headlight covers to the hood, the front clip is bonded the same way that Mr. Woolery described bonding his - with structural adhesive, long hair filler and a couple layers of glass on top for some strength... its a pretty strong bond methinks...
but here's what I've got so far;
and some yums.....
Nice work Sir. I have been wanting to do this since the day one. But I just can't get myself to do it !! Can't wait to see the finished work !!
Oh, that color is gonna look wild! Sub'd
