Decided I was tired of my washed out stock gauges so I decided to upgrade them. I wanted to find some stock gauges to replace them with but I wasn't able to find them without buying a whole gauge assembly, and as much as I like RevLimiter's gauges they're not in the budget. I found some white gauge face stickers on Ebay that I think really cleaned things up.

Those faces look pretty good! Do they just attach to the existing gauges?

yeah, having a tight budget sucks! but it's surprisingly comfortable. I figure when I do save up for the wheel I want I'll be able to sell this one for a few bucks anyway. Plus it's way better looking than the grungy stocker with peeling/gouged/flaking leather that it replaced. lol

They do. They're just transparent vinyl with the white and red screen printed on top. That way the original gauge color shines through them at night. They are pre-cut so you basically just have to peel and stick. The whole installation is pretty simple, although you do need to remove and paint the stock needles since a white needle on white gauges would be a bit invisible. Overall I'm very happy for $24 shipped.

I started painting my '91. I'm using Rustoleum (I know, I know) Hunter Green with a spray gun and so far I think it's looking pretty good. After I finish painting everything I'll let it dry for a week and then wet sand and buff it. So far for what I paid for it I'm pretty happy with the results.

I also picked up a 1.8 engine from a '96 for the grand total of $77. Not entirely sure what shape it's in but it does turn over. I'm planning on tearing it down and rebuilding it over the winter.

Working on my red '91 with my Daughter. Lots of work done so far, and LOTS more to do. I am dropping the rear sub frame, and taking care of some rocker rust & quarter panel dents.

Yeah, It's a pretty big project, but the car's been good to me and it's a nice Father Daughter project. So far we have replaced/refreshed the front a-arms & suspension (nuts, bolts, paint, rust, boots, tie rod ends, and sway bar & bushings). We need to drop the rear subframe (nuts and bolts off and ready to drop) to clean up, and replace the gas tank that has a small leak. The interior is good. But, the biggest part will be the sheet metal.

alcohol washes off all of the fingerprints and other oils which lets the header turn a nice color when heated up. Oil/ grease/dirt will turn the header purple. Rubbing alcohol works just as good and as probably cheaper.

I finally got my best mpg ratings on the car ever. 28 mpg while driving to and from Virginia going between 70 and 78 miles per hour. never thought that was possible. However I did burn a quart of oil between leaving yesterday and getting back today.
