What an ugly bumper.
congrats on getting that bumper you've been wanting for a while now!
Seeing how your car has turned out so far....your door panels will probably be awesome. Give me your templates, haha!

Hell yeah, I can't wait to see that new bumper on there. Nice purchase!

I was able to work on the door panel this weekend. I transferred my paper template to cardboard and made further refinements.
I cut the upper half of the NB2 door panel and test fit it on my cardboard template. I cut a bit too much along the top on the cardboard template.....so I need to fix that so there's no gap between pieces. Overall its starting to take shape! I plan to smooth the transition from the upper NB2 door portion to the flat panel with foam. I'll carve the foam so it can line up with the dash as well.
This is a vertex drawing I made in Illustrator to see how the overall look of the panels will look.

This is going to be great.

I rated your thread 5 stars because your car is awesome dude.
That should look better than the NA bumpers everyone's been using. Any plans on putting this towards a production piece?
Cool, thanks.
I don't know yet. I need to finish mine first to see how much time and money will be needed to complete a set. So far the template has been the most time consuming part since its the most important one. Replicating pieces off of it shouldn't be too bad.
Cost's as of now are ...
(2) 5mm plywood panel boards $15
Nylon Sling Straps $8 shipped
Costs will go up with some custom pieces I need to be made.
The panel looks good
Awesome door panels!

Some really good stuff going on here.
I received my LED interior kit from RetroModern this week. It's a very nice put together wiring kit that made the install super easy.
I tapped into the constant 12v in the radio harness. The wire on the instructions said the blue/black strip wire was the one for the constant 12v but for me it turned out to be the blue/red stripe wire.
The door jam trigger wire on the driver side kick panel was easy for me to find since it was already being used for my car alarm system.
I didn't recieve my LED dome light.... so the cabin still looks a bit dim compare to the footwell lights.
Sorry for the crappy pics...
I took the car out around the block to take some pics...here's a few I liked.

Looks great.
My flat door panel project stalled a bit bc I was waiting on my new speakers to arrive. I figured this would be the perfect time to add them.
I went with 8" Focal IS 200 integrated component speakers. I got everything I needed to get the job done....dynamat, speaker baffles, T speaker harness.
10" dynamat
Speaker baffles cut.
T harness makes installation super easy...plugs into the OEM speaker harness.
The extra baffle foam material is great to wrap around the harness to reduce rattles.
Speakers installed using OEM mounting holes.
Make holes for the speaker grill bezel.
Everything installed.
Used the OEM mounting bracket for the Focal tweeters. Again the baffle foam material was perfect for making it a super tight fit.
I ran wiring for the tweeters thru a hole located above the woofers. I added quick disconnect connectors for easy removal of the upper door panels.
I got these custom made sling nylon straps. They are 1.5" wide with a 3 " loop. I got a extra red one just for fun.
Cut the extra material from the sling and burn a hole for the bolt.
Complete. Just need to make one more cardboard template and it will be ready for the wood panel.
