    Thanks guys.

Yeah, it sort of looks like the side skirts from a Integral Kobe kit.

I finally finished my passenger side NB flat door card. I have procrastinated on this ever since I found out its a bit different than the driver side depth wise. I had to reorder a part with different specs and spent a good 3 days working on it. I just need to get my uppers wrapped in leather with some nice stitching around the edges to complete the door project once and for all.

I'm thinking the Mazdaspeed silver door handles might look nice with my door cards. Somebody needs to make metal NB door handles....that would be awesome.

I forgot to weight them..... but they were super light. The OEM fenders are already pretty light so you wont be saving that much weight.

My only suggestion, get rid or paint the chrome interior pieces black. The black/green combo looks really cool.

I for one like a bit of chrome in the interior as it helps break up the solid black, IMO he's got just the right amount.
I've got a lot less horsepower - luckily they are Japanese horses - usually in better shape and more motivated.

    Thanks Eric.

Yeah, I think I just have the right amount of brushed aluminum bits. I over did it when I got the HVAC control rings ...so I got those powder coated gloss black.

What I've been working on the past few days. . .

Thinking black diamond quilted alcantara to match the door cards and headliner.

Hung out again with the Mayday Garage crew this past Sunday. The coffee and rice meet has moved to a new location called Tout Suite that's even closer to me. I live just 2 blocks down the street from this new coffee shop. It almost makes no sense for me to drive there since it's walking distance but that would defeat the whole point of the car meet.

Did some maintenance this weekend. I had a oil leak on the back of the valve cover on the exhaust side for some time now. I researched and found this is a common leak on 99+ cars. A cap is located here behind the exhaust camshaft where the CAS on 94-97 miatas was once located and over time it will leak.

The OEM cap with a rubber seal was only $15 shipped from Rosenthal Mazda so it was worth a shot to see if that would fix my oil leak. This cap can be removed without removing the valve cover which was more encouraging.

Oil everywhere in this area. I would always find fresh oil just underneath the cap.

Ewww... The removal of this bracket is easy using a 12mm socket/wrench. The saddle bolts are the same size and only need to be loosen. Another bracket near the top needs to be removed as well to allow room for your ratchet or wrench.

Using the smallest flat head screwdriver I had I was able to pop out the old cap.

New on the left. Old on the right.

    Part number

New one in and everything cleaned up.

Still waiting on my JetStream side skirts to get painted. My painter is taking a while to get to it.

    Maintenance is always fun.

You should let me know when you go to Coffee and Rice. I'd love to see your car in person.
