damn, that sucks, but you could be replacing a turbo as well. I've got enough camping gear from a buddy, and he has a line on a campsite outside of Boone (15 minutes or so). Should be about $30 for 2 nights.

Gas money is what hurting me. I'm looking at just 300 bucks alone for the round trip to and from Boone.

At least its that time of year that at night it gets to be a nice temp where your not sweating your butt off . I have a portable battery operated ac that pulls air through cubes of ice if you want to barrow it Tony. I am working 10 hours a day all week and might be working Saturday 1/2 day so maybe if I get car fixed I will be able to afford to go as well.

I'm 35 minutes from Boone. Next year I'll plan ahead and get some power down to the bottom of the property by the creek, and just let folks camp there for nothing. It's pretty nice down there. Could be available this year, but there's no power or water to the barn right now. Something to think about, at least.

That barn area looks sweet! I'd love to go just for a day trip maybe. Can't afford gas and hotel.

I might make it down for one day of the weekend. Im having a medical procedure done on the 18th so I definitely won't be there on the 19th.

Is there space in that barn or in the woods to setup a hammock?

There's always a 30% chance of rain in Boone. The showers hit and miss through the mountains. Your almost guaranteed to hit rain somewhere during the weekend... but it's mostly dry.

So, anyone who decided not to go because of the weather made an error. Saturday was the only wet day, and that was only a few hours. Mostly, my friends and I just spent that time having lunch.) Thursday, Friday and Sunday were perfect.

I had the time of my year. Some really nice (and fast) cars. Great people. Good food. Plenty, and I mean PLENTY of liquor and beer in the evenings.

I went on the Ohlins run, Thursday. Friday I did the "Invitational" in the morning, then the "Big Tour" in the afternoon. Saturday I did "Black Ops" and the Sims BBQ run. Sunday I stayed all day and did the entire "Blind Kenny" run.

Ohlins = Shulls Mill Road, 221, 181, 126/Lake James Road, Bat Cave Road - and Ohlins USA tour.
Invitational = 194, 19E, Hanging Rock Road, NC 80 (North of Burnsville).
Big Tour = NC 88, Old NC 16, VA 58, 421 "The Snake".
Black Ops = Georges Gap Road, Beaver Dam Road, US 421 "The Snake".
Sims = Fall Creek/Parsonville Road, Champion Road, NC 268.
Blind Kenny = Shulls Mills Road, 221, Crabtree Road, NC 226A "Diamondback", and NC 80 The Devil's Whip"

We ran a few of these roads more than once, and stopped for breakfast, lunch, etc. The parking lots at the motels and everywhere we stopped looked like a car show. Canyons sounded like race tracks. A few of us swapped cars with several others. Pretty good time.
