I'm replacing the upper and lower boots as well as getting a turret kit. My question is what kind of transmission fluid should I use for it??

Do your diff while you're at it. BTW, what is a turret kit?

Sourced the motor craft for 16.99 a at and 14.50 shipping for 5 quarts. That will cover both mine and his transmissions. I am guessing the redline is for the rear end. I have someone local I can buy that from. Last time I did my transmission I put in redline and its still good. Its coming out because of a motor swap and I have heard better reviews on motor craft so sourcing it now

Ah, bushings and wave washers. Didn't know they called it a "turret rebuild kit." Good job with those. It's going to be a huge difference when you're all through.

my car shifts fine already...just the upper and lower boots are completely worn out....since im replacing the boots might as well do the turret stuff as well since everything is going to be apart anyways...

The lower bushing in that 'kit' will tighten up the shifting even more assuming yours is worn. I've seen them split apart before a few times. The new boots will tighten up the feel even more and quiet things down a bit.

I have a shifter rebuild kit for my 6sp. Too much work, so little time for projects. Maybe this weekend.

For the diff, a nice 75w90 works well. I hope to get the Motorcraft fluid in the AE soon.
