    Howdy from MD!

I'm a new refugee from ClubRoadsters so I thought I'd say hi to my new home. I recently bought a $900 Miata off CL with 268,000 miles on it and a busted starter motor. After spending way too many frustrating weekends on it I finally got the starter swapped out, so now I'm fixing up the rest of the car. I'm trying to focus on parts that I'll be able to switch out when this car inevitably kicks the bucket, so I'm not too worried about things like the paint job. I am thinking of at least spraying the hood and trunk with black PlastiDip but that is still a ways away. Without further ado here are some pics:

Wheels have been swapped back to stock daisies and the style bar has been removed.

The engine bay has been cleaned and I got rid of all of the red plastic wrap crap and swapped the hot air intake out for a Racing Beat CAI.

    New intake:

Probably my favorite thing about the car, all of the lights and even the pop up headlights work fine. Quite a relief since the car wasn't even running when I got it.

And for fun, what got me banned from ClubRoadsters

Howdy, welcome to the forum. Is the emblem printed in off a 3D printer? What the story behind it. It looks really cool.

It is 3D printed. I had posted some images on ClubRoadster of the design process, then posted a link to a 3D printing service called Shapeways where I ordered it from and they deleted my post and my account. Here are the renderings I did and when I get the go ahead I'll post the link to Shapeways if people want to order one.

It's funny to me when I see all these references to Pokemon and Pokeballs. Whenever I see them, I think:

Wow, that is harsh to see what they did to you. Fine work doesn't come by so often. I learning to use Autocad and Solidworks. I going into Civil Engineering so I'm required to take those. I like the see a keychain version in the Red/White one.

My favorite engineering joke: How do you know an engineer is mad at you? He looks at your shoes instead of his own while arguing with you.

I'm an architect so in my experience that tends to be pretty true. All kidding aside good luck with it, we need more good engineers.

As for the keychain, I'll pass on the request to my brother. I did the initial cad version but had my brother do the 3D model since he does it for a living. I've also seen requests for a horn button so I'll see what I can do with that.

That is probably because I butchered the joke. Here is what it is supposed to be:

    Q. When talking to an engineer, how can you tell an extroverted one from an introverted one?

    A. An extroverted engineer will look at your shoes rather than their own when talking to you!

I've never been any good at telling jokes.

I was close. I knew what it means, just I didn't know who to classify it, the extroverted vs introverted part. I was thinking alone/shy vs outgoing. I have bad vocabulary. Can't even tell a joke to same my life.
