First time owning a Mazda and even though I have only had it for about a week I can certainly say the Miata bug has bit. Already looking forward to the first project.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! Its much appreciated. Now, my first question is, what is everyones recommendation for a first modification?
Depending on your mileage and service history, I would change the oil, (engine & tranny, maybe rear diff), then timing belt and water pump, cooling hoses, brake fluids, brake pads, shifter boots become torn, and need replaced. Just get the maintenance up and then you can move into performance, or visual mods. JMHO!!
Have fun and learn about your Roadster.........

Mods: Racelands, XXR and obnoxiously loud exhaust. Forget maintenance. Go for instant internet cred……………………………… Oh wait…. this isn't CR. Wrong forum.
Carry on

Good news. Went through maintenance history and spoke to previous owner. Super helpful guy. All fluids changed and up-kept very well. It failed emissions when I first got it and I changed out to the direct Magnaflow CAT Replacement. Passing emissions with flying colors now. Shift boot needs some love though. Vacuum hoses will need redone before it hits the lovely 110+ summers of AZ.
You're lucky, as the Miata is a very easy car to work on. Spark plugs, and wires need replacement after 30,000 miles. Also a fuel filter and oxygen sensor are easy and inexpensive fixes/maintenance.
