KG Works/RS Products meter panel install question.

Is the center indicator panel left in place or removed?

My thinking is that it gets removed, but I thought I'd see if someone who has installed one could chime in before I attempt to put mine in. Couldn't find an answer on the net.

I installed mine with that panel left in and it was alright but you could see the indicator shapes in the little bulbs and it makes it not as bright, so I ended up uninstalling it and removing the sheet. I think you should remove it so you won't have to do it again.

Cool beans, thanks! How bright is the high beam light when lit? I remember reading somewhere that is real bright with the KG Works/RS Products panels.

The high beam indicator is pretty bright without the dark plastic screen thing left in. I'll see if I can get a picture real quick...

Sorry the photos suck; all I had around was my phone.

Next time I have my gauge hood off, I might replace the tinted window thing for the high beam.

Oh, wow, that is bright! I think I'll try using a piece of lexan tinted with some paint to knock that down to a more reasonable level. Pretty sure I have some still left over from my RC hobby days.

I removed my plastic piece as well and haven't had any issues with the high-beam light. I have a KGW panel btw. Not sure if it's different than the RS Products piece.

iirc, I took off the piece that has the warning light/high beam symbols on it, but mine also had a thicker piece of shady, transparent plastic only over the high beam light (which I also removed). The shaded window piece was about as thick as the turn signal arrow pieces. The symbol piece blocks most of the light for the high beam, I think, but the shaded piece should be enough.

If I could do it again, I'd take off the symbol piece, but leave on the shaded window for the high beams.

    Pro tip: do this.

The high beam is painful otherwise.

That's the plastic piece with the symbols on it, but it's cut to cover only the high beam indicator. That piece blocks a lot of light.
