    from the picture it looks like you have a wastegate in the intake manifold. If not, what is it??

    It is a wastegate in my intake.

    I've got a lot less horsepower - luckily they are Japanese horses - usually in better shape and more motivated.

    This is a new one for me, what is the benefit of this vs having it forward of the intake?

    We were looking for an appropriate mounting location for it and I mentioned that I would really like to have it in the intake, since that is where you really care about the pressure and temperature. When I mentioned that, John from Hytech remembered doing that on Indy cars a few years back and said it would not be a problem to drill the hole and weld a bung on the intake. A couple of days later I had this.
