Classy as ever!
Sucks about that Neochrome tank failing. I was actually looking for one the other week.

I've been thinking of going the IRTB route for a while now!
Here's a little project I did a few weeks back on a boring weekend. I used the leftover Alcantara material from my door panel project to upholster the inside of my glovebox and JDM coin cubby.
For the JDM coin cubby I just did the bottom portion.
I figured this would look great but also reduce rattles.

I have done mine in the past, as well as the ashtray in the central console; it does a great job at reducing rattles. Yours looks even better so thumbs up!
I just re-read this thread again for the n-th time. It nevr ceases to amaze me.
Props.
So I finally mounted my 16" MTE37 wheels. I wanted a meaty look and decided to go with 225/45R-16 Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Spec.
It's a lot meatier than I anticipated. Even with a wider tire the MTE37 setup is 3.6 lbs lighter than the SSR's.
The height difference will create a whole bunch of issues.
Fender splash guards and liners must go.
The width is just perfect.
This is the shot that bothers me. The wheels look out of proportion. I really wish there was a 225/40 series tire out there. But I couldn't find any.
What do you guys think?
Should I modify the car to make these work? Or find a better tire option?

Beautiful. Always love the meaty look, and these look just right (for me). Maybe if you didn't mind raising the car 1/2", these could work better?

I see what bothers you.....the offset had pushed the rims out thus the tires looks a bit perspectively big. A few millimeters in will probably make a difference. If you raise the car a tad may help but your current height looks perfect IMHO.
Bronze and BRG is just so sexy.......
Life is short drive a Miata
All of it looks perfect as-is IMO.
I've got a lot less horsepower - luckily they are Japanese horses - usually in better shape and more motivated.
raising it would be the least expensive fix, but i like the meaty look (i have TE37Vs in 15)
First step to running the MTE37 wheels is fixing my rear suspension. I was still experiencing a annoying creak while going over bumpy uneven roads under 40 mph. I suspected it was the lateral movement of the spring. The GarageStar top hats have no upper seat for the coil spring.
Found my solution on Yahoo Japan Auction.....NOPRO 30mm extended top hats.
Since the NOPRO tophats are pretty much OEM NB hats... I could run the TEIN upper seat that came with the suspension. 949 racing makes a identical part.
Assembled and ready to be mounted.
These give me about 1/4" of additional travel compare to GarageStar top hats.
Test drive was great! No more creaking. Thank god.
I'll need to raise the rear a bit more for the MTE37 wheels to clear. That will happen later.

Love the new wheels. Toyo t1r is available in 225/40-16.
