Worth fixing? Bose sound system for Miata

Just got a 99 NB, with the Bose sound system, the CD player will not work.
Are these good systems worth fixing ? or for the same $$ , install a more modern
    aftermarket unit.

I agree with Yellow. Mine is on the verge of dying. Just need it to die so I have an excuse to buy a better one.

Atank, that is exactly what I did with my Datsun Z. Took out the old "push button" radio, and installed a
Flowmaster 50 . Never had radio for 10 yrs.
Just ordered the Roadster Sport 3 for the Miata, so will most likely, not even need the CD player !

Man I never listen to the radio, I like to hear the sound of the engine, and the tires burning up the asphalt, its nice to get away from it all..........

I wouldn't bother with the BOSE system. It sounds nice when it wants to read CD's, but my head unit became more of an annoyance than anything. I haven't had it in for about two years. If I ever go on drives longer than a couple hours, I set my iHome thing on the dash and just blast it. Other than that, I prefer to be more aware of the road and the other idiots on it
