Are they ignorant of better brands to infringe on trademarks, or are did they think that Rota was a bit player that wouldn't fight back on trademark and patent infringement like the big guys would?
    Quoted for truth.

Rota's problem isn't that "their" designs are copied, it's that this other company is putting "Rota" on their wheels.

If you ask me, it's comparable. Rota doesn't have any original designs to steal. The only thing that someone could take is their name. Rota has spent their entire career building profits from the ideas and work of other people. Why shouldn't the same happen to them?

The Chinese are copying Rota because Rota has a higher volume of sales on a small profit margin compared to the companies they copy. The Chinese want to tap into this lucrative business practice and undercut even Rota.

But how many different style wheels can there honestly be before you have another similar style? How many different 5 spokes can honestly be made that people will buy? Rota has the right to their name though. No one should be able to use it as say they are true Rotas.

Nobody's flipping out about Ray's Engineering being written on Konigs.

Work comes out with new wheels all the time. It'd be different if the wheel looked similar, and not almost EXACTLY the same. I agree that the market is limited, but creativity is not.

Rota has the opportunity to create their own designs and sell them. They don't.

I am all for original designs and all but I can't justify that price. You hit a pothole and bend a wheel, do most people have the money to spend on getting another set? I don't make enough to do that. If people out there do, more power to them. But for the single set of real deal wheels, I can have 3 different sets of something else or 1 set and other performance parts. To each their own, but customization is always going to have copies, no matter what it is.

You're much more likely to break some Rotas.

In all my years of modding cars and knowing numerous other enthusiasts, I have yet to hear somebody that has broken a "knock off" wheel in everyday driving. I'll stick to those numbers.

Rav's Engineering and yes, that's cheesey but most likely legal. And if the original is being made in China the knockoff is probably pretty darn close in quality.

I found where to buy them....$80.00 per set F.O.B. China. No minimum but the freight is a killer. Maybe if we can get a group buy of 500 sets ? L.O.L.
Anybody got a spare 5 grand laying around ?
