The Miatapalooza 2014 Thread

I'm sure there will be a few people that will book a room nearby. I know there has been some talk about add-on events. The simplest thing we could do would just be to add a drive. This could just be a grassroots sort of thing and not necessarily part of the event. I don't want to derail this thread and I'm anxious to see what unfolds first, but if it makes sense, maybe we could add an impromptu Sunday drive followed by a good meal before calling it a weekend.

Time frame looks about right, no date set yet as Im not sure if it will happen this year or not.

Was actually considering alternating it, from West Coast (CA) and then East Coast (FL) back and forth each year so that the planners, and volunteers don't get burnt out like we did last year. Its actually a TON of work. Pretty burnt out myself. Thumper13 and myself are still looking at a few other options though.

I am still looking around,but,I am busy until after the Rolex 24...then I can get back into it.

I really think Randy has a really good idea of alternating years. I like that A LOT. People get tired if we do the same thing year after year. I really believe last year was so great because we skipped 2012 !

Agreed, back then we did get a lot of folks that just said, meh, Ill go next year, and once they realized we skipped a year they made sure to attend the following event.

There is probably a big cost involved, but what about the Sebring Race Track? They have a sea of concrete for parking and sponsors and maybe we can do a few parade laps like in October 2011 that would really attract a lot of cars. It's also centrally located.

Good lord, how am I just now seen that thread.. I've been curious about this for some time. I'm all for helping out. As far as alternating coasts, just a newb guess but doesn't the east coast already have a few events throughout the year like this? I remember drooling over Project G's meet last year. What I loved about this is that it was OUR'S, man! Oh well, if there isn't one this year I guess that just gives me more of a reason to join Miatas at the Gap

Sebring,only wants 20k a day to use their facility, how much room do you have on your credit card ????? Uh centrally located, for who ?????
